Tel Aviv University - Dr. Amalia Ziv (Dept of Literature)
protects Iran’s interests at TAU
Despite Ziv’s cushy faculty position, she
generally seeks to combine her obsession about all that is “Queer”
with her anti-Israel activities. … She also is pro-Iranian, despite
the insistence by the President of Iran that there are no
homosexuals at all living there. She was one of a group of radical
professors at Tel Aviv University
who protested a new Center for Iranian Studies lest it aid Israel
and American security. Ziv and her colleagues decided that the
time was apt to show their own solidarity with Iran and defend it
from American "imperialist ambitions." The protesters expressed fear
that the new center would be "misused" to paint Iran as a radical,
anti-Semitic and pro-terrorism state (which it clearly is), and
grant legitimacy to Western denunciations of Iran. They also
expressed concern about the center being exploited by American
“imperialism” in furthering American aggression against Iran.
Tel Aviv

Amalia Ziv is self-proclaimed expert on what
she calls “Queer Theory.” No, that has nothing to do with theories
about how homosexuality actually develops, something “Queer
Theorists” insist must never be addressed at all. She teaches
literature at Tel Aviv University. She has also been a lecturer at
the Interdisciplinary Program for Gender Studies of Ben-Gurion
University and at the Lafer Center for Women and Gender Studies at
the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She is co-editor of Beyond
Sexuality: Selected Papers in Lesbian & Gay Studies and Queer Theory
(Hakibbutz Hameuchad, 2003). She has published several articles and
book chapters in Hebrew and English on “feminist theory, queer
theory, queer culture, and sexual representations.” Her “Queer
Theory” is also interlaced with
Marxist ideals, the notion of fighting “oppression ” by
promoting deviant sexual behavior and the sexual ideals of the late
Marxist
Michel Foucault. She claims to be an international expert on
“Queer Theory.”
Ziv also teaches courses about pornography at
Tel Aviv University. She earned her Master’s Degree at Brown
University by writing a thesis on sado-masochistic pornography and
she now leads similar scholarly research
seminars with titles such as “What’s Queer About Masturbation?”
Despite Ziv’s cushy faculty position, she
generally seeks to combine her obsession about all that is “Queer”
with her anti-Israel activities. She created a “queer
anti-occupation group” at Tel Aviv University. She also is
pro-Iranian, despite the insistence by the President of Iran that
there are no homosexuals at all living there. She was one of a group
of radical professors at Tel Aviv
University
who protested a new Center for Iranian Studies lest it aid Israel
and American security.
But wait, there’s
more on Amalia Ziv. In 2005, she gave a lecture titled:
“Performative (sic) Politics in Israeli Queer Anti-Occupation
Activism,” linking the homosexual movement to the Palestinian Arab
myth and mantra of Israel as “occupying” an Arab country.
As a contributor to
GlobalGayz.com, Amalia Ziv wrote snootily about Israel’s World
Gay Pride events in Jerusalem and around the country. At the same
time she promoted pro-terror anti-Israel gay groups like
Black Laundry. It supports the very same Arab/Muslim
irredentists who murder gays in the Palestinian Authority and other
Arab/Muslim countries.
Amalia Ziv
signed a petition in support of the academic boycott of Israeli
academics and universities and blaming Israel for a lack of
“academic freedom” in the Palestinian Authority. The lack of
academic freedom there is Israel’s fault, she thinks, having nothing
to do with Islamist fascism there.
Not neglecting the
EU, Amalia Ziv also signed a “solidarity
statement” with Italian academics blaming a lack of academic
freedom at Bir Zeit University on the checkpoints Israel operates to
keep out suicide bombers and terrorists. Is should be noted that Bir
Zeit is also a campus where the student government is run my members
of terrorist factions like Hamas, PFLP and Islamic Jihad. One
student government campaign there in 2003
featured models of exploding Israeli buses. During a debate, the
Hamas candidate proudly asked the Fatah candidate: "Hamas activists
in this university killed 135 Zionists. How many did Fatah activists
from Bir Zeit kill?"
Needless to say, the "Zionists" are Jewish
civilians, the same people who through taxes help pay Amalia Ziv’s
salary at Tel Aviv University.
