Dr. Diana Dolev of New Profile strives to be the Israeli
“Tokyo Rose” against the IDF

Most architects
spend their careers building structures that help society. But
“expert in the history of architecture” Dr. Diana Dolev, formerly of
Hebrew University and now a instructor of Architecture and Planning
at
Holon Institute of Technology, doesn’t concentrate on building
things to benefit Israeli or western society. No, In general, what
she does is try to tear down democratic Israel’s defenses and even
helps Israel’s enemies to do so. Dolev, who claims she is fifth
generation Israeli, holds a Ph.D. in the History and Theory of
Architecture and teaches at Holon about the “militarizing” of
architecture in Israel, an extension of her PhD about the
“militarizing” of the buildings at the Hebrew University campus in
Jerusalem where she earned her degree. However, Dolev’s claim to
fame is not architecture; when people speak of Professor or Dr.
Dolev, they do it in context of her being
involved primarily with the radical group New Profile and how
she speaks
at their outreach educational programs worldwide as an
“academic.”
New Profile, is a
radical organization who mask themselves as “feminists ” and was
just raided by the Israeli police authorities for violating the law
about encouraging people on how to lie and evade military service.
By masking I mean that “feminism” among the New Profile elite
consists of numerous lesbian liaisons such as promoted by New
Profile leaders like
Dalit Baum. Decidedly communist/anarchist in their outlook (New
Profile made its presence known at the
World Social Forum), their
charter of course blames Israel for all its “wars of choice,” an
odd description of wars in which the Arabs continually mentioned
driving the Jews into the sea.
Anti-Zionism dating back to Stalinism rules the day at New
Profile as its membership seek to hurt the Jewish state. One of
their draft “resisters,” an 18 year-old high school girl,
is shown smiling broadly in a photograph where she wears a North
Korean or Chinese communist fatigue hat emblazoned with
the Red Star. The Communist/Stalinist platform of smashing the
Jewish state is the real New Profile aim, while the sloganeering
about peace and alternative ways to stop fighting the Arabs are in
true anti-Semitic communist fashion euphemized as “peace activism”
by Arabs and Israel’s communist left as being merely “anti-Zionism”
or “anti-war.”
Or in Diana
Dolev’s case, as “anti-militarism.”
Of course, Diana
Dolev is another example how the Israeli taxpayer unwittingly doles
out sinecures for whacko subversives and traitors who, once they get
tenure and an office, can then spend most of their time working
diligently to bring down the Jewish state by organizing groups like
New Profile. It could be said that as New Profile’s spokesperson, Dolev’s main themes, are “peace” and “feminism”, but Dolev uses
these words only to mask her attacking the Zionist state. The IDF,
of course, protects that state. It is fitting then that Dolev, who
has been an activist against the Israeli state and affiliated with
communist and movements against Israel even since before both
Intifadas and Oslo, began attacking the Jewish homeland in 1971 when
she was aligned with the Ban the Bomb movement in Europe while still
a student at the University of London. Even back then, cynical cries
for “peace” and alternative ways of placing blame on the democratic
countries of the world were a Soviet propaganda ploy to disarm the
West during the Cold War. As one of those radicals even starting
back then, Dolev later became one of the original co-founders of
Women in Black and continued her anti-Israel diatribes against
Israeli “militarism” from 1980 onward.
Today, she tours
abroad, not as an architect, but most notably as a mouthpiece for
the
International Solidarity Movement talking anywhere she can to
attack Israel and present a false image of the state as another
apartheid South Africa. This includes doing so in Christian
churches, colleges and anywhere else the ISM can find an ear in the
US and abroad in the EU, not just inside Israel where she works with
the ISM’s organizational front at the
Alternative Information Center. She doesn’t just encourage draft
dodging, but boycotting Israel, releasing terrorist murders and just
about anything else that is against Israel’s need for survival in a
hostile world.
Back home Dolev
works with the Association for Civil Rights in Israel and strives to
accuse Israel of atrocities against innocent Arabs. In particular
she devotes considerable time defending the Arabs in Gaza from what
she again defines as “atrocities” committed by the Israeli
government and joined in anti-Israel hand wringing claiming the IDF
committed “war crimes” in Gaza while ignoring missiles fired on
Sderot. The ACRI holds fundraisers along with the New Israel Fund in
the US where they invite Jews to think they are promoting democracy
in Israel, when they are in fact enabling the Arabs to undermine
Israeli self-defense and morale back home. NIF funded radicals in
Israel to pass out flyers and pay salaries to IDF soldiers who would
desert the army (An act no doubt near and dear to Dolev’s heart
since IDF draftees receive no pay while serving and NIF pays them a
stipend to sit in jail). Dolev’s constant target is the IDF. She
encourages her students and Israeli youth to avoid military service
and allies herself with ISM-affiliated radicals in the US who
practice the same propaganda against the US military in Iraq because
of Ba’ath Party links to the PLO.
Somehow, refusing
to serve or protect one’s fellow citizens falls into the
classification of “feminism”
for Dolev and her peers in New Profile. Militarism is equated with
“masculinity,’ something Dolev and her fellow members of New Profile
also emphasize is counterproductive to the Israeli society.
The fact that
Dolev ignores the reality of what Israel faces makes her a
particularly odious individual; she is the Israeli
Tokyo Rose abroad. In an interview in the Jerusalem Post about
the government’s raid on New Profile she makes the statement that
“Our leaders do not explore all of the other possibilities before
deciding to go to war.”
Hunh? With Oslo,
Israel gave a license to the PLO (that then murdered thousands of
Israelis) to create a state on half the land under Israeli control.
With the Disengagement, Israel deported over 8,000 Jews from homes
built on uninhabited sand dunes (the only other such intentional
deportations of Jews were done by the Nazis and the Russians). We
all know the results of the Disengagement on the communities in the
Negev, something Dolev never refers to or even objects to in her
lectures about Israel’s “atrocities” in Gaza that she gives at
American universities, churches and elsewhere. Israel built nine
universities for Arabs, has equal rights for Arab citizens, and even
affirmative action programs for Arab citizens, yet Dolev wants the
West to believe otherwise. Israel has always provided free medical
care even to Arabs from hostile neighbor countries as a goodwill
gesture. Israel gave control over the Temple Mount to the Muslim
Waqf in 1967 that forbids Jews to pray there. And Israel’s
leadership does all this to avoid war and even violence at almost
any cost. Meanwhile, Arab TV shows, even for children, exhort for
war to annihilate the Jews.
Clearly someone
who would still make a statement that Israel’s leaders do not
explore alternative options to going to war is either crazy or a
liar. In Diana Dolev’s case, she may be both, but she is also an
opportunist. In the
JPost interview she began by claiming she was not a pacifist so
readers might think her just a rational woman seeking “peace”. She
defines the military in Israel as indicative of “fascism” and
refuses to distinguish between a professional army such as is found
in dictatorships to prop up the dictator as opposed to Israel’s
citizen army, an army where the equality of women in the armed
forces is the real feminism, not like the effete self-serving
homosexual women in New Profile seeking to represent what they
consider the feminist norm by embracing Israel’s mortal enemies. By
the end of the same interview she then says she is a pacifist. What
is clear, is Diana Dolev will say anything to be the center of
attention and to blame Israel as the cause for war with the Arabs.
This nets her media attention, trips abroad and notoriety among her
radical leftist/anarchist/communist peers. It does nothing to
advance the cause of peace or security for the Jewish state.
“We have to look
into this a little bit deeper,” she continues, “and we will find out
that for different reasons OUR LEADERS WANTED WAR or they were NEVER
ABLE TO THINK ABOUT CONFLICTS OTHER THAN WAR and the FORCE OF OUR
ARMY [emphasis added by this writer].” She then claimed that Lebanon never
went to war against Israel (it did so in 1948 and allowed attacks
from its soil later) and that Syria doesn’t dare go to war (could
that be because of Israel’s military that she so detests? After all,
the Syrians do provide headquarters for Hamas and Islamic Jihad).
“So what are we really talking about? Iran?” Then she laughs. “ I
Think Israel should simply leave them alone,” she concludes.
Dolev can preach
this until the cows come home because she also knows the rest of
Israeli society, particularly its women, wants to survive so will
have its sons protect Israel and even Israelis like Dolev. She can
take satisfaction though that as she travels, she gets notoriety and
even some money all the while telling Israel’s young people to
draft dodge and by her giving morale boosters to Hamas against the
IDF.
So, let’s recap:
According to Diana Dolev, Israel’s wars, declared by the Arab Nation
and Islamist expansionists are to be met how?
With lesbian trysts and definitions of feminism held at New Profile
gatherings and by dismantling the IDF and opposing its influence on
Israeli society? Hmmmm…Or perhaps with Jews marching again to
the gas chambers this time run by Arabs or Iranians? This woman is
unreal, and would be laughed off any dais were she not passing
herself off as an “Israeli academic” to other fuzzy-headed leftists
on our campuses and at other venues around the world.
