Ben-Gurion University - Yael Ben-Zvi (Dept of Linguistics and Literature) - Post-Colonialist BUTCH(er) of Words

Ben-Zvi's dogma of "post colonialist theory" amounts to her belief that Israel is a conspiratorial concoction of Ashkenazic Zionists.  When it comes to being an anti-Semite, no closet can hold her!

Ben-Gurion University - Yael Ben-Zvi (Dept of Linguistics and Literature) - Post-Colonialist BUTCH(er) of Words

Yael Ben-Zvi is a lecturer in the Foreign Literature and Linguistic Studies at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where her specialties are supposedly American studies, cultural studies and the ever-popular Marxist pseudo-discipline of "post-colonialist theory." She earned her PhD at Stanford University, where she was active in the anti-Israel movement on campus, including in pro-terror anti-Semitic groups like The Coalition for Justice in Israel /Palestine, an affiliate of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM).

She participated in an event on the Stanford campus that claimed that Palestine was a country before 1948 and that over 700,000 Arabs were driven from their homes when Israel was created. In other words, she is a mistress of Bash-Israel fiction. The exhibit featured photographs of Palestinian "victims" of Israeli "aggression." Ben-Zvi was quoted there by the campus newspaper telling an audience: "[Nakba] the word is used to refer to the devastation of Palestinian society and the dispossession of the Palestinian people resulting from the ethnic cleansing conducted by Zionist forces during 1947-48."

Of course, that Palestinian Arab population inside Israel has increased 10,000 percent since 1948. Some ethnic cleansing! Some genocide!

While still a doctoral student at Stanford, Ben-Zvi appeared in 2002 at an anti-Israel panel event titled, "The U.S. and Israel: Myths, Realties and How the U.S. can Avert the Coming Crisis." It was held at the Mill Valley Community Center. She shared the dais with Jess Ghannam, who is the co-founder of the virulently anti-Semitic Al-Awda, and who is a big wheel in the International Solidarity Movement in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ghannam also leads the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israeli Universities, including of Ben Gurion University where Ben-Zvi now teaches. The event was sponsored by "If Americans Knew," an anti-Israel lobbying group whose director, Alison Weir, used to pass out literature stating that the Zionist movement perpetuated the Holocaust upon the Jews and who has written articles for the Neo-Nazi David Duke's websites. At the same event, Ben-Zvi insisted that the very term "Jewish state means non-equality for non-Jews." This event was funded by the Vanguard Foundation, a funding source for Marxist oriented and anti-US organizations like the International Action Center, which advocates the violent overthrow of the US government.

So why are we not surprised that once again Ben Gurion University, the home of Neve Gordon, Oren Yiftachel and Lev Grinberg, demonstrates its commitment to trashing serious academic standards when it comes to hiring radical far-leftist haters of Israel?

When it comes to bashing Israel, Ben-Zvi is also a real joiner. She signed a petition calling for the Arab "right of return" that would demographically spell the end of Israel, a petition that was created by another leftist anti-Israel group, The Alliance of Middle Eastern Scientists and Physicians (although she is neither). In another, she called for the elimination of checkpoints that prevent terrorists from murdering Jews, because she alleged it prevented students from Bir Zeit University enjoying their "scholastic freedom." She never protested the Hamas or the PLO preventing scholastic freedom from anyone!

In another petition, she called for international military intervention against Israel to enable the Palestinians to achieve their goals. In yet another she called for the boycott of Israel and even of her own university. Just so there's no confusion, she also joined a herd of "500 Jews from Israel and Around the World Who Declare Support for the Palestinian Right to Return" and signed yet another petition to that effect.

Yael Ben-Zvi even finds fault in Israel's treatment of its gay population, but has never had a word to say about the Hamas and the Palestinian Authority, which routinely murder and torture homosexuals.

After acknowledging that Israel does protect her gay citizens, even to the point of hosting a Gay Pride Parade every year, Ben Zvi attributes this to an "Ashkenazic Zionist" conspiracy:

Here's a quote from her article Zionist Lesbianism and Transsexual Transgression:

"Given that Israeli democracy is not fully accessible to minorities, the privileged status of queers is surprising. The same Supreme Court that shows little concern for Palestinian or Mizrahi appeals for social justice, has been consistently gay friendly," She then says, "This is due to the ways in which official representatives of Israeli queers [gee… what makes them official, anyways? - LK] have imagined and positioned their community to conform to the ideological contours of that shape Ashkenazic Zionist imaginings of Israel. Queerness is less threatening than racial or national identities that cannot be reconciled with Ashkenazic Zionism."

Ben-Zvi's dogma of "post colonialist theory" amounts to her belief that Israel is a conspiratorial concoction of Ashkenazic Zionists. When it comes to being an anti-Semite, no closet can hold her!

Pity the poor hapless students at Ben Gurion University
