I have to confess to you that for several days
I have been holding back revealing to you the most amazing and
scurrilous aspect of the Gideon Aran affair. I held back because I
did not have a solid quotable source. Now I found one.
Gideon Aran is the ultra-leftist sociology
lecturer at the Hebrew University who has been in the media all this
week due to his having harassed sexually a Hebrew University
student. Ultimately the Hebrew University paid about 38,000 NIS in
"hush money." Unlike Prof. Eyal Ben-Ari, from the same department,
whose name has been in the media for many years due to his OWN
sexual harassment of students (some students accused him of rape),
Aran's name was being quietly kept hidden until this week. Why was
that?
I have known for a few days that Aran is or was
married to the sister-in-law of Ehud Olmert. Aran's wife is or was
Neta, the sister of Aliza Olmert, wife of Ehud Olmert. I can now
break that news because it is confirmed by Dr. Orit Kamir, a faculty
member (and feminist) at the law school of the Hebrew University.

Her article there is a long attack on Aran. I
will not translate the entire long piece. The relevant section is
this:
Kamir: "But Gideon Aran loves to remind people
that he is brother-in-law to the Prime Minister (and, yes, this also
has public important and interest in my opinion, as testament to
"How you can give female students the impression that a faculty
member is REALLY somebody of importance"), and Aran evidently does
not like to be regarded as just an ordinary citizen, thinking he is
entitled to an exalted status. He is unwilling to see ME exercise MY
own freedom of speech (Kamir had earlier attacked Aran for his
sexual hanky panky with students and had revealed that the internet
stories about a lecherous prof were referring to Aran) and the
freedom of the internet to tell the truth. …
"In the past whenever I mentioned him by name,
he immediately called my home and threatened me. Now he has hired
lawyers to threaten me and posted on the Rishimot site violent
ranting threats, threats to sue me for huge amounts of damages…. A
legal basis for these threats does not exist."
(Evidently Aran never actually sued her)
Was Ehud Olmert behind the hiding of Aran's
identity for years? And for the long failure of the university and
the legal system to take action against Aran?
